The fernFM is a hardware platform for receiving, processing and monitoring FM signals. It can convert FM audio to multiple output formats and monitor the signal (including SNR, RSSI and RDS). With the largest configuration, up to 16 FM channels can be received and processed with a single remote FM. These can then be easily made available via a built-in USB audio interface.

However, users who work with FM signals should not have to forego the other advantages of modern solutions. fernFM is our answer to users who want to convert FM inputs into other formats or monitor FM signals with aixtream. The fernFM system includes all components that are necessary to receive and monitor FM signals. Together with an aixtream system, fernFM enables the use of FM signals as input for all outputs supported by aixtream — analogue/digital/AoIP interfaces, web radio, MPEG TS, RTP or SRT, audio recording and more.
